| Description | Directorate of Public Instruction was established in 1856 and since then it is functioning. In 1956 when the four provinces i.e. Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Baluchistan were merged and named as West Pakistan, the Directorate of Public Instruction was renamed as Director Public Instruction (West Pakistan) a nd four Regional Directorates i.e., Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Hydrabad were setup. |
