| Description | The Association of Pakistani Americans of Bolingbrook has been hosting Pakistan Independence day programs in Bolingbrook for 27 years. Previously held in the Village hall and the DuPage Township Levy Center. After a few years of arranging the successful programs and to adhere to the request of the Pakistani American community we requested Mayor Roger Claar to see if we could hold a flag hoisting ceremony. We were very fortunate that Mayor Claar accepted our request and from there on we started this historic flag hoisting ceremony at the Village hall in the presence of Village officials, Consul General of Pakistan and various politicians who graciously honored us. This year marks the 27th year of our flag hoisting ceremony. |
